Sea Isle City’s Irish Fest, Bar Assn. Race Draw Crowds

SEA ISLE CITY — Irish Weekend was a huge success this year in Sea Isle City, according to a release.
With beautiful weather and tons of activity, there was something to occupy everyone throughout the entire weekend, Sept. 26-27.
Vendors sold food, beverages, crafts, clothing, Irish memorabilia. They lined JFK Boulevard with their goods. There was also plenty of musical entertainment throughout the entire weekend. The Gallagher Brothers, West of Galway, and Round Tower kicked off the weekend on Friday evening with music all over the LaCosta Complex. On Saturday, Cletus McBride, The Snakes, and Celtic Connection joined in the musical entertainment, and the Snakes closed out the festival on Sunday. Members of the Ryan-Kilcoyne School of Irish Dancing also performed at the festival.
The Cape May County Bar Foundation had a successful run on Saturday morning.
With 39 registered runners and 18 registered walkers, the foundation was able to raise approximately $4,000. Jim Romano was the first place finisher of the entire race, and first place male finisher overall with a time of 19:01.
Jennifer Caldwell was the first place female finisher overall, seventh finisher in the race, with a time of 23:38.43. Following are the male and female winners in each age category:
Male: 14 and under- Andrew Stetser, 32:54.83; 15-19- Matthew McGeehan, 20:00.52; 20-29- Rob Lange, 20:34.71; 30-39- Patrick Morrissey, 22:14.49; 40-49- Chris Spearing, 24:50.82; 50-59- Mark Rose, 25:50.02; 60-69- Cliff LePage, 32:34.42.
Female: 14 and under- Rose Zappacosta, 30:51.83; 15-19- Kelly Loftus, 27:11.04; 20-29- Lauren Pale, 24:09.01; 30-39- Stephanie Boon, 26:33.47; 40-49- Shannon Duffy, 41:42.39.
