NORTH WILDWOOD — Katherine C. Flounders became the city’s newest police officer Oct. 16 after being hired by Mayor William Henfey and city council.
At a morning council meeting that day, Municipal Judge Louis Belasco administered the oath to Flounders.
She had her badge pinned on by her father Detective Sgt. Thomas Flounders, of North Wildwood Police Department.
Officer Flounders was born and raised here; she is the daughter of Christine and Thomas Flounders.
She will attend the Cape May County Police Academy, Crest Haven, after which she will be assigned to the patrol division replacing a retired officer.
