Children Enjoy Party Hosted by Karate School

By Al Campbell

WHITESBORO — For the 15th year, Santa Claus made a special visit with children at a party at Martin Luther King Community Center hosted by Hamer’s School of Karate under supervision of Burgess “Butch” Hamer.
Numerous volunteers pitched in to help make the day a festive one for the children.
This year, as in the past several, Santa descended from the sky on the Cape May Court House Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 aerial truck. The children, who had been enjoying an array of food, activities, haircuts and having their faces painted and nails done, were excited to see the North Pole’s most famous resident.
All of the 66 children who attended were given a special time with Santa to tell their wishes. In addition, they received a big bag of toys to take home to enjoy.
