Beloved Beach Tag Inspector Enjoys 25th Summer on the Job

Beach Tag Inspector 25 Years

By Press Release

SEA ISLE CITY – Marilyn Bennett has been greeting Sea Isle City beach-goers for a quarter century. A Boston native and Penns Grove High School (NJ) graduate, Mrs. Bennett has become a fixture on Sea Isle’s 41st Street Beach, where she has worked for the City as a Beach Tag Inspector each summer for the past 25-years.
“Everyone who goes to the 41st Street Beach knows Marilyn,” said Beach Tag Director Pat Allen, a 22-year employee with the City. “She is greatly loved, and people often offer to bring her snacks or other treats on their way to the beach because she is such a nice person.”
“Marilyn is always at her post, she is very good at her job, and she is a fine ambassador for the City,” added the Director.  “Plus, she always knows what’s going on in town – especially when it comes to entertainment events – and she lets others know what’s happening.”
As if a 25-year milestone was not enough, Mrs. Bennett also holds the title of being a Beach Tag Inspector longer than anyone else in Sea Isle’s history.  Additionally, it is very clear that she greatly enjoys her work and she appreciates the positive impact it has had on her life.
“Each year, I receive over 100 Christmas cards – many of them from people who know me from the 41st Street Beach during the summer,” said Marilyn, a proud mother of three and grandmother of four.  “I have been fortunate to create many lasting relationships while being a beach tag inspector, and I get to meet nice people every day I go to work. I really love my job!”
