Army Reserve Officer Marks 100th Birthday

Villas VFW Color Guard members Jim Keeber

By Jim McCarty

VILLAS – Retired television repairman Edward Weber, 100, made house calls in Philadelphia back in the day when televisions were fixed when they did not work.
Weber is a former lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve and a veteran of the North African Campaign during World War II. He was honored at the Villas Veterans of Foreign Wars post by friends and sisters Jean Connelly and Ruby Pearce from Terre Haute, Ind., June 16, on reaching his first century.
Weber sat next to his color guard members Jim Keeber, Bob Fern and John Evanson.
Sen. Jeff Van Drew (D-1st) was present to honor Weber’s service and long life.
Weber summed up the day by announcing “I feel grrreat!”
