NORTH CAPE MAY – John Metzger was featured in the Cape May County Herald on the occasion of his 100th birthday. In the meantime, Mr. Metzger suffered a fall and was unable to walk for a while. Having set his hopes on marching again with his Cape May String Band, he started physical therapy. After only three weeks he had recovered sufficiently well to perform once again. On Wednesday night April 15, 2011, Mr. Metzger marched – dressed festively in Hawaiian attire and smiling from ear to ear. Congratulations to Mr. Metzger!
