Dennis Township Student Receives $1,000 Scholarship from Beta Sigma Phi

DENNIS TOWNSHIP – Matthew Gavenda, who resides in Dennis Township, and is a senior at Middle Township High School, is the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship from the Dorothy and Walter W. Ross Memorial/Exemplar Scholarship of Beta Sigma Phi.
Beta Sigma Phi is the world’s largest women’s organization of its kind with over 130,000 members in more than 10 countries around the world.  Matt was sponsored for this scholarship by the local chapter, Xi Beta Pi, of which his mother, Pam Gavenda, is a member.
This scholarship is one of 30 $1,000 grants being given this year.  Members of Beta Sigma Phi, their sons, daughters and grandchildren, are eligible for this award.  Recipients are chosen based on their scholastic standing, community involvements, letters of recommendation, and a personal essay.
Matt plans on attending Drexel University next year.
