DENNIS TOWNSHIP — Organized by guidance counselor Jillian Bassetti, the Dennis Township Primary School Unity Walk for School Safety focused on teaching students about working together and uniting for kindness, acceptance and inclusion. Students and staff wore orange clothes, made banners and signs, and walked around the school together to demonstrate a united front against bullying.
“We want our students to understand the value of working together and preventing bullying in school and our community,” explained Bassetti. “Studies show that bullying causes not just social and academic issues in school, but long term issues for people who have been bullied, so if we can get our students to understand that it’s better to be kind and support each other earlier, then we can help stop the negative effects of bullying before they even begin.”
