AVALON – The Avalon Historical Society held their 13th Annual Photography Contest during the month of May at the History Center, 215-39th Street. The photographs were judged June 2 by Al Campbell, editor of the Cape May County Herald, Len Morgan and photographer Cal Sampson.
Rose Marie Chew, chair of the event announces the winners of the different categories: Avalon – first Mary Flounders, second Craig Phillips, third Nikki Robinson; Nature – first Karen Goldberg, second John Kauterman, third Craig Phillips; Scenic – first Stuart Friedman, second Joy Corson, third Kathy Clark Kelley; Portrait & Personality – first Barbara Herr, second Kathy Clark Kelley, third Leslie Branda; Children’s Category – first Cynthia Sakoulas, second Gabrielle Grace Braun, third Aiden James Hippen. The Best in Show went to Stuart Friedman with his storm cloud entry.
The photography pictures will remain exhibited along with Len Morgan’s early 1900’s camera exhibit through the Summer season. The History Center is open daily except Mondays, you may contact them at 609-967-0090.
