WILDWOOD CREST – Crest Memorial School will hold its second Honors Assembly and Achievement Gallery of the year March 9, at 4:30 p.m.
The program will recognize students who earned first and second honors for the second marking period, and highlight products created by students as part of the school’s project-based learning curriculum.
Among items to be showcased in the Achievement Gallery are models of prehistoric animals, videos, slide presentations, artwork, and collections designed by students and produced on the school’s three 3D printers.
Additionally, winners of this year’s annual science fair will be recognized. Eighth-grade student Frank Basile took top place overall, with his project on wing aerodynamics. Seventh-grader Ryder Fuscellaro won second place with his project, “Stroop Effect,” and eighth-grader Cameron Compare was third place overall with “Drought Prevention.”
The following sixth-grade students were named winners for their grade in the science fair competition: Jenna Ziemba, first place, “Bacteria on Cutting Boards”; John Karavanas, second place, “Greenhouse Effect”; Brenden McGrath, third place, “Water Filtration.” Honorable mention went to Lexie Encarnacion, Lilly Guest, Sofia Jurusz, Marian Kurtz, and Abbey Pruszinski.
The following seventh-grade students were named winners for their grade in the science fair competition: Michael McGee, first place “Chromatography”; Aval Sorensen, second Place, “Sound Insulation”; Alejandra Garcia, third place, “Vitamin C.” Honorable mention went to Corbin Menz-Gentzow, Hannah Fuscaldo, Daniel Corkery, and Abby McAllister.
The following eighth-grade students were named winners for their grade in the science fair competition: April Merino, first place, “Plants and Colored Light”; Lindsay Robbins, second place, “Rolling Friction”; Gianmarco Sanzone, third place, “Coding a Platform Video.” Honorable mention went to Julia Sorensen and Ethan Burke.
