Crest hosts annual beach races

The Borough of Wildwood Crest will host its fourth annual Crest Adventure Races Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m., beginning and ending on the beach at Heather Road in the shadows of the Wildwood Crest Beach Pier.
The Crest Adventure Races, which include a five-mile run, 5K run and one-mile family fun run/walk, will be held on all-beach courses.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers, as well as the top male and female finishers in categorized age groups, for the five-mile and 5K runs.
All pre-registered competitors will receive a long-sleeve t-shirt. Race-day registrants will receive a long-sleeve t-shirt as supplies last.
Refreshments will be available and random prizes will be awarded during the awards ceremony following the completion of the races.
Registration fees are $20 for the five-mile run, $15 for the 5K run and $10 for the one-mile fun run/walk if registered by Aug. 21.
Registration fees go up by $5 for each category after Aug. 21 and on race day. Race-day registration will be held at the Crest Pier Recreation Center at Heather Road and Ocean Ave.
