CAPE MAY – Petty Officer 3rd Class Jordan Lee, a Cape May native and graduate of Lower Cape May Regional High School, is scheduled to be awarded the Coast Guard Training Center’s Enlisted Person of the Quarter award for his superior performance of duty.
Lee will be presented a certificate of recognition, Nov. 3, 2014, for his exemplary work during the last three months. The recipient of the Enlisted Person of the Quarter award is decided by the Chief Petty Officers of the unit after they review all the candidate’s nominations.
Some of Lee’s accomplishments include acting as an operational unit leader during three Sunset Parades, the CG Day celebration and a Morale, Wellness and Recreation sponsored triathlon, where he supervised non-rated personnel, and recruits, to ensure safety and security were maintained during the events. Lee’s research and trouble-shooting efforts during an operational failure of the unit’s closed circuit television system, saved more than $10,000 in tax payer dollars that would have otherwise been spent on repairs.
“Petty Officer Lee’s efforts are an exceptional example of the Coast Guard’s core values of Honor, Respect and Devotion to Duty,” said Chief Petty Officer William Herr, Assistant Chief of Police at the Coast Guard Training Center Police Department. “His sense of teamwork both here on base as well as working with our counterparts at the state and local levels is beyond reproach.”
