When looking around for a limousine service, teenagers should comparison shop in an attempt to find the best deal. The following are a few things to look for when shopping for a limousine service.
* Appearance: Few teenagers or even adults have spent time in a limousine, so judging a good fleet from a bad fleet can be difficult. But the eyeball test can go a long way toward helping teens and their parents find the right limousine service. Limos should be clean on the inside and out, with no visible signs of rust or fluids leaking from the vehicles, and vehicle upholstery should clean and void of any tears. * Flexibility: When shopping for a limousine for prom, teens should find a company that’s willing to work with them on the cost. Unlike couples renting a limousine for their wedding, teens heading to the prom won’t need certain accessories, such as a fully stocked mini bar inside the vehicle or even post-prom transportation, which is often arranged by schools that host post-prom festivities on campus. So teens should look for a company that’s flexible in their pricing and willing to work with their budget.
That flexibility also should extend to the type of vehicles the company has to offer. The more prom-goers you can include in your group, the less the cost per head is likely to be. If you have yet to get commitments from all of your friends, look for a company with a fleet of vehicles that can accommodate both large and small groups. This gives you and your friends a chance to figure out the cost per person of both large and small limousines, and such figures may be just what you need to convince more friends to ride with you to prom.
* Contract: Prom season is a busy time for limousine companies, as it happens to coincide with the beginning of wedding season. When you have found a company you like, make sure they print out a detailed contract that includes the exact vehicle you will be using on prom night. You don’t want a different vehicle than the one you expected to pull into your driveway on prom night.
In addition, make sure the contract spells out exactly what happens if the vehicle is changed. If a problem with a vehicle should arise, many companies will automatically upgrade customers to a larger vehicle, but customers must make sure that such upgrades will be made at no additional cost. The contract also should spell out other details of the night, including pickup and drop-off time and any repercussions if that schedule is not adhered to.
