CAPE MAY – What are your thoughts when you hear the phrase: “Is the glass half full or half empty.”? Psychology teaches us that this phrase is associated with the difference in the views of an optimist and a pessimist. The optimist sees the glass as being half full while the pessimist sees the glass as being half empty.
We have passed the midway point of the 2015 summer season at the Cape May Beach Sunday School (Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend.) We optimistically boost of finishing the first half of the season with new hymnals, record attendance, worship music, uplifting reports of the Missionary endeavors we support, youth choruses, children’s lesson, inspiring lessons taught by Chaplain Robert Scheidly from Erma; Rev. Wilbur Newton from Bridgeton; Rev. Nicholas DeMaria, M.D. from Shamong; Rob Riehl from Cape May Beach; Jon Vile from Cape May and caring non-denominational Christian fellowship. July 11 we participated in the Cape May Beach Whale Day by having an open house and parking vendors vehicles on our lot.
If we look at the 16 weeks in the 2015 summer season while comparing it to a glass half full or half empty, one view would normally be optimistic and the other pessimistic. Not so because we are looking back optimistically and optimistically looking forward to finishing the second half of the 2015 summer season with the same casual, and friendly atmosphere. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy worshiping the Lord with us on Clubhouse Drive between Elwood Road and Folsom Avenue. It makes no difference if you are a full-time resident, a summer resident or a weekend visitor, a hearty welcome awaits you. Look for our sign on Clubhouse Drive. Be sure to listen for the Church Bell indicating it is time for Cape May Beach Sunday School every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. May 24 through Sept. 6 2015.
