COURT HOUSE — Freeholder Thornton and Middle Township Mayor Tim Donohue cut the large pink ribbon and formally opened the new Thrift Store supporting Volunteers in Medicine of Cape May County (VIM). Shoppers were lined up and ready to enter the store. The beautiful space located at 20 S. Main Street, in Cape May Court House is full of merchandise, all donated by a very generous community. The store will be open Mon. through Sat. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Since 2001, VIM has treated more than 4,000 patients with 28,000 cumulative visits, all at no charge. Chair of the Board for VIM, Doug Burke said “It is harder and harder every year to raise the funds we need to run the clinic. The Board hopes this store will shore up the funds needed for clinic operations.” Volunteers are needed to help sort and price items, run the cash register, greet customers and man the store. Donations are gratefully accepted during store hours. For more information, visit www.vimcmc.org.
Shop, donate, or volunteer, knowing you are supporting the VIM Clinic, whose motto is “neighbors caring for neighbors.”
