Universal Supply Company Acquired by LBM Holdings

COURT HOUSE — US LBM Holdings, LLC announced that on Jan. 12 it completed the acquisition of Universal Supply Company, LLC – a major supplier of building materials to area homebuilders and remodelers for over 40 years.
With locations here and throughout New Jersey, including, Pleasantville, Gloucester, Hammonton, Vineland, Manahawkin and Lakewood, Universal adds a strong geographic component, as well roofing and siding sales strength to US LBM.
Universal Supply, formerly a subsidiary of Stock Building Supply, LLC, the second largest lumber and building materials business in the United States, was founded by Joseph Umosella Jr., in 1965. Son Jeff Umosella, Stock’s New Jersey market manager, will remain with the business as president of Universal.
Said US LBM President and CEO, L.T. Gibson, “The relationships that Jeff built with his customers, vendors and employees are the best in the industry.”
Umosella has a seat on the board of US LBM, and along with his father Joe, is a shareholder in Universal Supply. Accord-ing to Jeff, “In US LBM we have found a partner that respects the local nature of our business and will allow us to operate independently.”
US LBM Holdings, LLC, headquartered in Green Bay, Wisconsin, provides lumber and building materials in Wisconsin, central New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, eastern Penn-sylvania and Delaware. Comprised of 21 locations and more than 700 associates, US LBM operates under the trade names of Wisconsin Building Supply, Bellevue Builders Supply, East Haven Builders Supply and in the Delaware Valley, Universal Supply Company, headquartered at 532 S. Egg Harbor Road in Hammonton.
