Surf on in to Taco Shells by the Sea, now open in Marmora, and get ready to thrill your taste buds with a new wave of Mexican cuisine!
Sandy and Giacomo Avanzato both grew up in the restaurant business, working in family-owned restaurants just a block away from each other in Sea Isle City. Although the couple ran Giacomo’s family’s restaurant for several years, Giacomo’s dream was to open his own taco shop. When the opportunity presented itself, Sandy and Giacomo jumped on it and together made the dream a reality. They purchased Taco Shells in 2017 in Sea Isle City, where the restaurant had already been a staple in the community for six years.
Being year round residents of Upper Township, Sandy and Giacomo eventually realized that they needed to be in a location where they could “feed their baby” – their business – in the winter. They decided to move the restaurant offshore to Marmora, and on July 16 opened for business in the bustling Marmora Town Center. This “golden opportunity” allowed for both a larger restaurant and year-round business.
At Taco Shells, you’ll find a menu full of fresh/mex flavors, offering burritos, burrito bowls, tacos, quesadillas and salads. Everything is handcrafted daily on location, and most produce and ingredients come from local vendors. Taco Shell’s homemade salsa and dressings are prepped every morning with lots of love, and the guacamole is made multiple times a day so it’s always fresh.
There’s something on Taco Shell’s menu for every member of your family – even those who are gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian! Sandy and Giacomo suggest trying the popular Mango Tango Burrito, made with fresh mango chutney, avocado, rice, fresh pico de gallo and your choice of beef, chicken, black beans, steak, pork or white fish, and served with a side of cilantro lime vinaigrette. Be sure to visit the hot sauce bar and choose from multiple varieties, and don’t forget to grab an authentic Mexican soda! Finish your meal with a sweet treat, such as Sweet Crispas, a Choco Taco, a slice of Tres Leches Cake or a crispy Churro.
Taco Shells by the Sea is located at 4. W. Roosevelt Blvd., Marmora.
