Now celebrating its second anniversary year, Jessie Creek Winery has accomplished in its short life what most renowned wineries hope to achieve over several years. Jessie Creek was awarded Middle Township Chamber of Commerce’s 2014 Business of the Year Award in the area of Recreation & Entertainment. To date, it has received five medals at the annual New Jersey Wine Grower’s Competition. Most recently, Jessie Creek is one of ten participating wineries invited to present a proprietary blend showcasing the distinguished Chambourcin grape. This limited red blend is titled “Coeur d’Est” and is representative of the region’s best wines.
Jessie Creek owners Art Reale and Dr. Bruce Morrison invite locals and visitors alike to celebrate the property’s second successful year with them at Sunset on the Vineyard Fridays. Sunset on the Vineyard events allow visitors to enjoy the winery’s breathtaking dusks with live entertainment, food, and a bonfire from 5-8:30 p.m. beginning June 20 and through Labor Day. The talented local performers and menu vary week to week, making each and every Sunset on the Vineyard experience unique. Savor slow-cooked BBQ delicacies prepared by Art himself on the wrap-around porch or at the vineyard’s recently added picnic tables. Some evenings on the vineyard, the party continues even later into the night.
Jessie Creek’s facilities include both ample indoor and outdoor spaces, making it the ideal destination in both rain or shine. Families are more than welcome to bring a picnic lunch or dinner of their own and take a seat on the property for a low-key evening of conversation and wine sampling.
Jessie Creek’s tasting room allows visitors a unique view of the intimate side of boutique wine’s production. Staff walks visitors through the entire production process, from the vine to the crusher to the fermentation process. $7 tastings are available daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and feature a taste of each of Jessie Creek’s nine acclaimed wines.
More recent additions to the Jessie Creek inventory include On the Way to Cape May Cranberry, Concord Grape, Apple, and Blueberry Fruit Wines which are each light, sweet, and the perfect close to a summer evening.
Jessie Creek Vineyard is also home to the historic Inn at Jessie Creek. This beautiful 1846 original farmhouse has been reconstructed into a Bed and Breakfast and is now home to four elegant guest suites. Each suite features its own private bath and charming ambiance. Most notably, no Inn visitor will ever leave hungry as Art prepares a home cooked breakfast spread each morning. Inn reservations should be booked in advance.
Jessie Creek Winery also hosts dozens of benefits, graduation parties, anniversary dinners, birthday celebrations, and special events throughout the year and features its own banquet space to accommodate such crowds. To schedule your own event on Jessie Creek’s beautiful grounds or for more info on tastings, call (609) 536-2092 or visit them at 1 North Route 47 in Cape May Court House.
