Find That Shore Vibe at Surf Dog Bar & Grill

Surf Dog

By Sponsored

Within the quiet, offshore community of Woodbine lies Surf Dog Bar & Grill, a beach haven among a mostly rural community. Opened in May 2014 and celebrating its fourth summer in business, this nautical-themed indoor/outdoor bar and restaurant serves as a “beach house” for local campers and their families.
Inside Surf Dog, you’ll find a beautifully renovated dining room and bar. Classy yet casual, the intimate inside space is the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing brunch, lunch or dinner with family and friends. Mouthwatering menu options include everything from cherry-smoked BBQ, to filet mignon, to burgers, to brick oven pizza, to bar bites, allowing everyone to find a favorite. New this summer, Surf Dog is offering a Sunday Brunch Buffet from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. featuring an omelet station, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, breakfast meats and more for just $14.95 for adults and $8 for children under 10. And to top it off, Surf Dog has a Sunday Bloody Mary special for only $2.50 that runs all day long!
The man behind this delicious menu which truly captures the spirit of the Jersey Shore is Chef Kirk Peterson. Although Peterson is only in his second summer at Surf Dog, he is no stranger to the area or the culinary industry. In fact, Peterson spent five and half years in the kitchen at Surf Dog’s very location when it was the Bull & Bear Tavern, serving as sous-chef. Peterson grew up in Cape May County, but moved all over the country throughout the years, from Philadelphia to Vegas, to perfect his culinary skills. Eventually he landed back home, and now adds a Mediterranean twist to Surf Dog’s menu. Peterson’s specialties include homemade meatballs, “meat on meat” burger specials such as a large pile of smoked pork belly on an Angus beef burger, and bacon-wrapped dates stuff with blue cheese which according to Peterson, they “can’t keep in the building!”
Pair your meal with a cool cocktail such as the Blueberry Martini, Surf Dog’s signature drink. Additionally, Surf Dog has 17 beers on tap which are constantly rotating. At any given time, at least four local breweries are featured such as Cape May Brewing Co., Ludlam Island Brewery, 7 Mile Brewery and Pinelands Brewing Company. Sometimes Surf Dog has beer from these local breweries that’s less than 24 hours old!
Outside, Surf Dog features a spacious patio with seating as well as the Sand Bar, Woodbine’s very own beach bar. Cornhole and bean bag toss boards are available on the patio, so the kids can play while mom and dad relax with a cold margarita or beer in hand. Or, the adults can play and let the children in them shine! Next to the bar is a smoker which cooks massive amounts of cherry-smoked wings, ribs, pulled pork and brisket, ready for you to indulge with Surf Dog’s homemade blackberry barbeque sauce. As the sun sets, gather around the bonfire pit and listen to the sounds of live musicians and bands, featured Tuesday, Friday and Saturday nights.
Connected to Surf Dog is a banquet hall, available for special events and parties. With seating for up to 100 people, Surf Dog caters your event with its delicious American cuisine.
Dedicated to providing a unique dining experience to its visitors, Surf Dog is more than just great food and service. Come check out Surf Dog’s fun atmosphere seven days a week in the summer. Surf Dog is one of the few restaurants and bars in the area that is open year-round. Be sure to take advantage of Surf Dog’s weekly specials, like Tuesday Night Tacos and Friday Night Prime Rib!
