CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Congratulations to Dorothy Giorgio for being named Cape Regional’s Difference Maker Volunteer for the fourth quarter of 2016. Dottie exemplifies the Health System’s Service Standards of being positive, engaged and proactive.
Since joining the Volunteer Department in 2004 as an Errand Volunteer, Dottie has contributed more than 3,900 service hours. In addition to her regular duties, Dottie also shares her crafter talents by keeping the bulletin board in the Volunteer Workroom beautifully and seasonally decorated! When asked what volunteering means to her, Dottie shared, “Cape Regional’s Volunteer team is one big family. We work together to make sure our patients’ and fellow team members’ needs are met. Volunteering is a highlight for my week—it is such a privilege!” Dottie’s award nominators note that she is always most positive, goes the extra mile and shares her enthusiasm towards volunteering at Cape Regional with others in the community.
Dottie lives in North Cape May with her husband, Vincent; together, they have a daughter, Nicole. During the award presentation, Joanne Carrocino, President and CEO, Thomas Piratzky, Vice President of Cape Regional Foundation, and Julie Paolella, Director of Volunteer Services, joined with the award winners’ fellow volunteers and staff members in honoring her with the Difference Maker Volunteer Award. Dottie was presented with flowers, Special Touch Volunteer pin, a gift card and commemorative plaque.
