The Cape May County Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation will honor Calvin Back at the annual FORE Education Golf Tournament on May 14. Mr. Back is a member of the Middle Township School District Board of Education and has the added distinction of being the longest serving school board member in New Jersey, having been on the Middle Township Board of Education for 57 years.
The Chamber Education Foundation recognizes an individual each year at the annual scholarship golf tournament. The Honoree each year is someone who distinguishes themselves as a champion of education in Cape May County. “The Chamber Education Foundation was formed to support, enhance and promote education and training programs that develop the skills, knowledge and leadership abilities of local professionals and youth in order to advance the county’s talent, entrepreneurial spirit and economic growth” according to Vicki Clark, Executive Director of the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation and President of the Chamber of Commerce.
“The work that the Chamber Education Foundation is doing to provide opportunity for our local youth and young professionals to attend a local college and stay local is a tremendous benefit to our residents and business and I am happy to support their work,” said Mr. Back of why he is participating in this scholarship golf tournament as the 2019 Honoree.
“We are so proud to honor Calvin Back this year” said Doug Burke, President of the Chamber Education Foundation and resident of Middle Township. “Calvin has withstood the test of time, and has been an invaluable member guiding our School Board in Middle Township for over 50 years! We are forever grateful for his service and accomplishments.”
