COLD SPRING — Members of the Fifth Regiment, New Jersey Volunteers (Union Army) battled the Confederate Army (17th Virginia Volunteers) at a reenactment during Civil War Weekend at Historic Cold Spring Village, Sept.13 and 14.
Following test firings of their rifles, the battle began with “casualties” on both sides.
The skirmish started in the village and concluded near the Cold Spring Village barn.
The weekend also featured encampments and a field hospital. It is one of the main weekends at the 19th Century recreated farm village.
