Cape May National celebrates 20th Anniversary as ‘The Natural’

By Press Release

Cape May National Golf Club, Route 9 and Florence Avenue in Erma, the southernmost golf course in New Jersey, celebrates its 20th Anniversary this June.
One of the most natural golf courses ever built, Cape May National’s dedication to environmental preservation changed the golf industry, starting a new trend in environmental sensitivity in course design.
Built in 1991, the course surrounds a 50-acre private bird sanctuary, one of the largest in the state. There are no houses on the course, providing the experience of a pure game at the championship level.
Rooted to its late 1800s predecessor Cape May County Club, Cape May National’s design is reminiscent of a classic turn of the century golf course. One of the most critically acclaimed course in the region, the 18th hole was recently featured as one of the, “50 Most Beautiful Golf Holes in New Jersey.”
The course is open to the public, with membership packages available. Open year round, the course offers a driving range and boasts one of the world’s longest putting and chipping greens.
The course welcomes corporate, social, and charity events and has a full service Pro Shop and Half-way Café, which serves snacks, refreshments, beer and cocktails.
