“In accordance with their mission to serve and with an ongoing heart for Haiti, Cape Christian Academy (CCA), a loving Christ-centered PK3-12th grade ministry, existing to “Build Students from the Inside Out”, recently held a unique and special fundraiser called “Feed the Need”.
After seven weeks of fundraising with “Feed the Need”, a Christian mission focused program, operating much like a typical walkathon, CCA culminated this event with a packing party celebration, June 10th at the school. Students, their families, faculty, as well as community volunteers packaged over 10,000 meals for needy children in Haiti and elsewhere. With worship music playing and the school Cougar mascot encouraging everyone, each grade took turns working together in an assembly line fashion to label, fill, seal and package meals for shipment. It was an exciting morning filled with purpose and meaning!
Funds raised from this event will be applied towards the completion of the school’s first-ever gymnasium known as the “Student Life Center”, now nearly finished. The remaining balance of the money raised will go towards the food packages for those who need it most. A double blessing! As a result of the efforts of many and generous members and businesses in the community, over $22,000 was raised. CCA would like to thank everyone who played a part in this special event. Please know your efforts made an eternal difference in the lives of our students and those in Haiti and other countries. We greatly appreciate your gifts from the heart. When we come together as believers for one purpose we can accomplish great things for the Lord!”
