By Press Release

Cape Regional Health System held its annual Back to School Drive for the Glenwood Avenue Elementary School in Wildwood. Thomas Piratzky, Executive Director of Cape Regional Foundation, delivered backpacks full of school supplies to the students on Monday, Oct. 9. Members of the Cape Regional Health System team collected over $2,100 in school supplies to support the elementary school in Wildwood.
“Seeing the excitement in the eyes of the children when they receive their backpack full of school supplies is something that cannot be measured,” stated Tom Piratzky. “It is this generous spirit that inspires the entire team at Cape Regional to make a difference in the lives of these amazing children at the Glenwood Avenue School.” This marks the ninth year that Cape Regional’s team members, physicians and volunteers have contributed to the annual back-to-school drive.
“We appreciate the support that we receive from Cape Regional Health System at the beginning of each school year to help with school supplies for many of our students,” stated Travis LaFerriere, School Principal.  “Cape Regional has become a very important and valued partner at Glenwood Avenue Elementary. These school supplies will be used throughout the year to supplement many of our students and classrooms. Thank you, Cape Regional Health System, from the students and faculty at Glenwood Avenue Elementary School.”
Glenwood Avenue Elementary School has one of the highest poverty rates in the state of New Jersey. Approximately 440 students attend the school that serves grades Pre K-5.
