The Avalon Police Department will host its first Easter Food Drive for the Atlantic City Rescue Mission.
The donations will be provided to homeless adults, children and families for Easter 2020. The Atlantic City Rescue Mission houses approximately 350 individuals and families nightly and prepares over 700 meals daily. During Easter, the Atlantic City Rescue Mission prepares approximately 1,500 meals on that holiday alone.
The department will be accepting frozen turkeys, frozen ham, canned and unopened boxed food. Please ensure that the donations are not expired.
Residents and business owners can visit the department at their convenience through April 10 to add their donation to the lobby’s donation bin. If you can’t visit the department, you can call the department’s non-emergency line, (609) 967-3411, and an officer will pick up the donation at your location.
The Avalon Police Department would like to thank everyone for their donations and participation in advance.
