Aging Alternatives: Help for Seniors Suffering From Alzheimer’s

Aging Alternatives

By Sponsored Content

Aging Alternatives is a pioneer business, being the first and only of our kind in both Atlantic and Cape May Counties. The staff members of Aging Alternatives are here to lead the way and show that there are many other options for seniors suffering from the terrible disease known as Alzheimer’s/Dementia.
Aging Alternatives believes in a person-centered care approach in both our training of Homemaker- Health Aides and our one-stop information center for caregivers and their families. With the help of our Certified Case Care Management team, we offer many new alternatives such as: family caregiving classes; finding the proper programs that will pay an hourly rate for those family caregivers that put their life on hold due to the active daily living demands of a loved one; and adult family care homes. The staff at Aging Alternatives knows that one size does not fit all. Everyone needs to be treated with dignity and self- respect through this process.
Also located at Aging Alternatives is our Private Career Center, complete with staff members that are New Jersey Certified Homemaker-Health Aide (CHHA) instructors. CHHA classes are provided monthly. The cost is $600; this includes license fee and fingerprinting, books, CPR/AED/First Aid certification for infants and adults, Bloodborne Pathogens training certificate along with an Alzheimer’s training certificate. Aging Alternatives’ Private Career School prides itself on graduating trained, knowledgeable CHHAs for employment. The person- centered care approach starts with the training of CHHAs. 90 percent of all Homemaker-Health Aides deal with Alzheimer’s/Dementia clients on a daily basis in clients’ homes or Assisted Living. CNA conversion classes are also provided for $150 + license fee. These classes are also offered monthly.
In addition, Aging Alternatives is a Red Cross Training Center. Certification classes can be taken for CPR/AED and Babysitting certifications. Please call for more information.
An Alzheimer’s/Dementia Support Group for caregivers will be held every Tuesday at 1 p.m. starting Feb. 2, 2016.
Aging Alternatives is located 5803 New Jersey Ave., Suite 102, Wildwood Crest. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and weekends by appointments. For more information on Aging Alternatives’ services or to make an appointment, call (609) 522-6821 or email agingalternativesafc@gmail.com.
