CAPE MAY – New Jersey’s most respected professional surfer, Dean Randazzo (right), and General Manager of the Beach Shack, Sandy Montano, celebrate after a successful event. Shack Up for a Cause was held Sept. 15 at The Rusty Nail in Cape May and raised $5000 in support of The Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation.
The Beach Shack is officially a proud sponsor of professional surfer and local legend Dean ‘The Jersey Devil” Randazzo. To celebrate their partnership Dean hosted Shack Up for a Cause at the Rusty Nail in Cape May to benefit the Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation. In 2001 Dean was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease. He thankfully managed to beat it and has since become an avid spokesperson for cancer awareness and research, forming the Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation. The Foundation has raised more than $300,000.00 for cancer research and awareness over the last 10 years. In support of Dean’s great cause, the Beach Shack created a special cocktail in Dean’s honor, “The Jersey Devil Nailer,” raffled off prizes, and donated 10% of the entire day’s food proceeds. The grand-prize winner of a custom made Randazzo-Beach Shack surfboard was Ed Edwards.
