Avalon History Center Announces July Programming

AVALON — Avalon History Center announces July programming.
New Children’s Program for 2016:
Four-session day camp: Mondays July 11, July 18, July 25, and Aug. 1 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Rising 5th-7th graders are invited to participate in fun, hands-on activities to learn more about Avalon’s history and culture. Limited capacity; call to register for one or multiple sessions.
Wed., July 6, 7 p.m., “On the Way to Cape May” Lecture, Avalon History Center:
Learn about the history of Cape May with Bob Heinley of Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities.
Tues., July 12, 7 p.m., Chautauqua Program, Avalon Elementary School:
Laugh in Peace – comedy show featuring a rabbi, a Muslim and a Pastor.
Tues., July 19, 11 a.m., Teatime at the Avalon History Center:
Enjoy tea with us as we share memories of old Avalon, and make new ones!
Tues., July 19, 7 p.m., Chautauqua Program, First United Methodist Church of Avalon:
Fascinating lecture series exploring what it means to be human, in partnership with the New Avalon Assembly.
Wed., July 20, 7 p.m., “On the Way to Cape May” Lecture, Avalon History Center:
Learn about the history of Sea Isle City with Mike McHale of the Sea Isle City Historical Society.
Sat., July 23, 8:30 a.m., Avalon Historical Society’s Annual Clamshell Pitch, 30th Street Beach:
$10 per person. Try your hand at this fun sport, historically played on Avalon’s beaches!
Wed., July 27, 7 p.m., “On the Way to Cape May” Lecture, Avalon History Center:
Learn about the history of Ocean City with John Loeper of Life Saving Station 30 and the Ocean City Historical Museum.
Tues., July 26, 7 p.m., Chautauqua Program, First United Methodist Church of Avalon:
Fascinating lecture series exploring what it means to be human, in partnership with the New Avalon Assembly.
