Art Scholarship Fundraiser Held for Middle Township High School Students

By Press Release

An Art Scholarship Fundraiser for Middle Township High School students was held on Oct. 22, 2016 in memory of local artist Maryann Dougherty at the Jessie Creek Winery in Cape May Court House. With over 250 attendees, the fundraiser raised over $6,000 to be presented in part to a graduating Middle Township art student. Mrs. Dougherty was an energetic artist who enjoyed using a wide variety of mediums to create, paint and teach in her studio in Dennisville. “Maryann would be so happy to think that her talent and love of art would be used to assist some young artists to further their education,” said Frank Dougherty, Maryann’s husband. Mrs. Dougherty passed away this past March after a long illness.
