By Press Release

COURT HOUSE – School Based Youth Services program located at the Cape May County Technical High School is announcing the 4th Annual Pride Day at the Zoo for local high school students from New Jersey’s southern counties.
The event is scheduled to take place May 11 from 3-7 p.m. The event has been coordinated to support and connect local LGBTQIA&A youth in a safe and drug free environment. Students who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, questioning, intersexed (LGBTQI) have statistically higher rates of suicidal ideations and substance use. This event successfully connects students with age appropriate peers so that they feel less isolated.
The estimated attendance for this event is 140 students representing nine school districts. The participating school districts are as follows:

  • Bridgeton Regional High School
  • Cape May Technical High School
  • Cumberland Regional High School
  • Egg Harbor Township High School
  • Hammonton School District
  • Lower Cape May Regional  High School
  • Mainland Regional High School
  • Middle Township High School
  • Ocean City High School

This event is being sponsored by:
Cape Atlantic Integrated Network for Kids
Cape May County Library
GABLES
Municipal Alliance of Lower Cape May
