The City of Cape May and the 400th Anniversary Celebration Committee will stage a grand 400th Anniversary Parade Aug. 29 beginning at 11 a.m. with line up starting at 10 a.m. at Pittsburgh and Beach aves.
The parade route is Beach Avenue from Pittsburgh Avenue to Patterson Avenue with the review stand at Convention Hall.
This parade is dedicated to Cape May’s 400th Anniversary commemorating Henry Hudson’s discovery of Cape Island in 1609 aboard his sailing vessel “The Half Moon.”
Mr. Charles “Bud” Swain and Patricia Mulligan, the 400th Anniversary celebration king and queen, respectively, will serve as the Grand Marshals.
The parade will feature many outstanding entries, and anyone wishing to participate can call Cape May Civic Affairs at 609-884-9565.
The event will be rain or shine, as there is no rain date.
