Lower Township has a rich history of people and small organizations looking out for its residents. Many of these organizations are rooted in faith-based and offer community outreach to meet basic needs such as food and personal care pantries, temporary housing, community education, and soup kitchens. These faith-based community organizations reach vulnerable individuals and families in a multitude of life-sustaining ways. In June, eleven Faith-Based Community Organizations meet to form the first of quarterly meetings to talk about cooperation among them and to begin identifying deeper collaboration, as often their mission to be of service to others overlap.
