CLARK, KATHLEEN
Kathleen Clark, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, in Cape May, NJ, at the age of 92. Born in Liverpool, England, on September 7, 1932,
Kathie's indomitable spirit and warmth drew others to her from a young age.
In 1954, Kathie moved to the United States, beginning a new chapter in her life that would see her marrying her husband Sam, and spend the next 30 years crisscrossing across the country as Sam served in the USCG and Kathie worked in the hospitality industry including 9 years with Holiday Inn. They moved to Cape May in 1975 becoming an integral part of the community for more than half a century. Her entrepreneurial spirit shone as the owner of the Meadowbrook Motel in Cape May Court House, NJ, where her friendliness turned guests into lifelong friends.
Kathie was an active and devoted member of Our Lady of the Angels Church, where her kindness and selfless nature touched the lives of many. Not one to remain idle, Kathie embraced her love for football as an ardent Eagles fan, relishing every game with enthusiasm.
Her greatest joy, however, was found in time spent with her beloved family. Kathie is survived by her son, Bruce Clark (Vicki), her daughter, Linda Peoples (Jim), her five grandchildren, Kathleen, Matthew, Phil, Maggie, and Ginny, and fourteen great-grandchildren, each a testament to her loving legacy. She was predeceased by her husband Samuel L. Clark.
An avid player of cards and board games especially, Pollyanna, Kathie's love for games was only matched by her fondness for celebrating birthdays and her adventurous trips to the casino. She was truly people-oriented, always prioritizing relationships and cherishing every moment shared with friends and family.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 35 East Mechanic Street, Cape May Court House, NJ, where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Cold Spring Presbyterian Cemetery.
Donations in Kathie's memory may be made to Next Gen 30, which performs 30 acts of kindness annually in the communities that Genevieve Farnan loved, prioritizing the health and education of young people in the Cape May County community, at https://www.nextgen30.com/.
