BRENNAN, JR., THOMAS P.

BRENNAN JR., THOMAS P. Thomas P. Brennan Jr., age 82, passed away unexpectedly, on the 21st of January 2024, at his home in Wildwood, NJ. Born on the 22nd of September 1941, in Norristown, PA., Tommy, as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, was the eldest son of Thomas Paul Brennan Sr. and Rita Lorraine (Haney) Brennan. As a child, he attended St. Patrick's elementary school, and graduated from Bishop Kenrick HS in 1959 where he participated in many extracurricular sports and scouts as well. Tom's spirit of adventure was matched by his dedication to service as he then went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy, just as his Father, Brother, and Uncles before him. Thomas was honorably discharged in 1962. His last duty assignment was aboard the USS Angler submarine as Quartermaster. He carried the discipline and camaraderie of his time in the submarine force throughout his life. Tom's competitive nature shone bright as a professional softball player and was only matched by his prowess as a national Yo-Yo Champion. His post-military career was no less impressive, where his charm, wit, and hard work made him a beloved salesman. As a real estate entrepreneur and restaurateur in Avalon and Stone Harbor NJ. Tom helped shape his community, contributing his vision and work ethic like no other. Tom then began his journey into the arts, and for him, not one medium could convey all he wanted to share. He saw beauty in everything, more importantly, the everyday and shared that any chance he could with others; always insisting that we can learn from every moment in life, bad or good, and that most importantly, every one of those moments is a gift. Combined with a strong sense of faith, his positive nature guided him through life and was unmatched. Pop, as he was lovingly known by his Grandchildren, was a man who loved life, and lived every moment that was given to him to the fullest. He will forever be remembered as someone who was ever eager to explore the next horizon and appreciated all that the journey had to offer, every step of the way. Tommy is survived by his sisters, Gerarda Brennan Bowman, Maureen Brennan Serago, and brother Bernard Brennan and predeceased by his brother Dennis Brennan. Tom is predeceased by former wife Carol (Woodward) Schultz and he is survived by his daughter Meghan (Jeffrey) Schafer, his Grandchildren, Savannah (Keith) Arenberg, Lilli Schafer, and Gabe Schafer, his great grandchildren, Hudson & Addison Arenberg; daughter Tracey (William) Labrum, his grandchildren, Seamus (Kellie) Labrum, Onora Labrum, and his great grandchildren, Quinn & Beau Labrum, his daughter Lisa Brennan, and all of the many nieces and nephews that he so loved. Tom leaves behind his loving companion and partner in life, Mary Lou Hammond, who will carry him in her heart forever. Funeral Mass will be held at Notre Dame De La Mer Parish St. Ann Church, 2901 Atlantic Avenue, Wildwood, NJ 08260 on Monday, February 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom's name to his fellow submariners who recognized his commitment through his active participation in the US Submarine Veterans – Atlantic County Chapter, 415 Shore Road, Somers Point, NJ 08244.
