The Unofficial Start to Summer

By Moretti

To the editor:
Memorial Day weekend is respectfully the remembrance of those who have fought for our country, parades are held and memorials are visited. It is also looked at as the unofficial start to summer. Spending Memorial Day weekend in Wildwood was not only a relaxing weekend getaway, but also it was eye opening in the sense of how the island is positively adapting.
Memorial Day weekend in Wildwood was everything I hope this summer to be. The weather was beautiful, the restaurants were busy, and the boardwalk was filled with smiling faces. Being a spectator the past few summers, I feel as though there was a record-breaking amount of families that were there to enjoy everything Wildwood had to offer.
Considering there aren’t always positive things to say about Wildwood, I believe this should be recognized. I have spent multiple summers on the island and I have watched the highs and the lows each season, but after this past successful Memorial Day weekend, it is looking like a promising summer.
