We received our Official Primary Election Sample Ballot for the Township Of Middle last Friday. I looked mine over, and was shocked by what I read. There was the Republican side and the Democratic side.
Under the Republican Ballot :
General Assembly Vote for two, two names given
County Clerk Vote for one, one name given
Members of the board of Chosen Freeholders vote one, one listed
Township Committee vote one, one listed
What???
The Democratic ballot was similar, except No petition filed for Member of Chosen Freeholders or County Clerk
I know that it is necessary to have a Primary Election before the main elections, but all this shows is who is voting Democratic and who is voting Republican. Don’t they already know this?
I could write in a personal choice, but they still would have to be Rep. or Dem.
This may just be me, but this ballot seems unnecessary! The cost of the paper, printing, and mailing seems a waste of taxpayers’ money. Couldn’t we have had some more choices? I believe in voting. My voting record will show that, but I feel like such a fool going into a voting booth with so little choices.
So go out and vote on June 2, 2015. See if your vote makes a difference for our county.
