Almost Christmas

By Rose Kuprianov, Wildwood

Radio stations play beautiful Christmas Carols spreading joy

News reels reporting bad news sandwiched between the melodies

Store windows decorated in festive holiday scenes

Television stations broadcasting war zones

Nations fighting unwinnable wars

Innocent women and children caught in the crossfire

We pray each and every day for peace when there is no tangible peace

Families planning get togethers with relatives from near and far

Ignoring unusual and destructive weather patterns

Smiling faces hiding the sense of urgency in our hearts

Our hearts and souls long for an elusive hope

That can only come from above

“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ.” Titus 2:13

Even so Lord Jesus come.

Kuprianov writes from Wildwood.
