I am the Doorkeeper at Branches … watching
and praying as they come in and as they go.
Some are walking fast, most are walking slow.
Watching and observing the attitudes that they display … some are grateful,
some complain, but they come in anyway.
Praying for the affliction to soon be removed, knowing that their souls have
been utterly bruised and confused.
As they walk around in the wilderness, the Tent City they call home; I know
they feel that they are alone.
Whatever the circumstances that have brought them to this point in their
life, I’m praying that God will see them and take away their strife.
Homelessness, addictions, and mental illness too; can be a
heavy burden for anyone to carry and to subdue.
Depression, hunger and fear, part in their life, the unknowing and
uncertainties of what this life has to offer, brings them to a point when they
don’t want to even bother.
As the Doorkeeper at Branches, I wear a smile on my face to make them
feel loved and to give them hope, praying the hope in God will make it easier
for them to cope.
I pray that my
time at “Branches” will not be in vain … I pray in due
time God will take away their pain.
As I speak God’s Word to encourage their hearts, I pray the affliction of their
addiction will soon depart.
I pray that God’s Word will minister to their soul. I pray they will receive it so
they can be made whole.
The Word of God is powerful and true, it will give them the strength to carry
them through.
As the Doorkeeper at Branches, I watch and pray; May the Peace of God
heal and deliver them as they go their way.
Those without shelter, food, and clothes … may they put their faith and trust
in the Lord, because He knows.
He is all powerful, all knowing and everywhere present. When you walk
with the Lord, you will no longer be a transient.
When you seek Him, and hear his voice, believe me;
you will at some point make a better choice.
As the Doorkeeper at Branches I am on assignment for the Lord.
As he orders my steps in His Word, my
desire is to be pleasing in His sight;
as he allows my light to shine in the
midst of this homeless plight.
