Re: the Herald’s coverage of CMC schools’ poor test scores. I graduated LCMR in the 90s. I felt that I got a good education and was prepared for college. When my kids attended the same school, the standards had dropped considerably. When I attended, passing was 70- it became 65. When one of my kids ended up with a teacher I had had, I asked: You don’t make them write essays anymore? You no longer have them do a term paper? You don’t make them pass a 50 states test? No final exam? He said that the principal banned those things despite the "college bound for all" curriculum.
