I live in Ocean City full time. I am happy to pay my beach tag fee every season to keep our beaches clean and to protect those with lifeguards in case of emergencies. If you do not want to pay this fee go to Atlantic City or Wildwood where they are free. Every year the fees go up and I will happily pay to make sure our beaches are the best!
