STONE HARBOR – At a Stone Harbor Council Meeting Nov. 14, council woman Robin Casper read into the record a letter to the borough from the state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
The letter noted that the bids had been opened and an award was made to Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company for the 2023 federal beach replenishment for 7 Mile Island.
While the details of the cost share agreement between the state and the two municipalities on the island are not yet available, the schedule was announced.
According to the letter, the beach replenishment should begin “after the new year” and be completed prior to the Memorial Day traditional start of the summer season.
