Van Drew, Alexander Set to Debate at Stockton in October

GALLOWAY – Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-2) will debate Democrat Tim Alexander October 19, The Press of Atlantic City has announced.
The two candidates for the 2nd Congressional district will debate at 6 p.m. in the Campus Center Theatre at Stockton University’s Galloway campus.
It will be cosponsored by Stockton’s William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy and The Press of Atlantic City.
The debate will be held in person. Limited seating might be available, The Press reported. It will be livestreamed on The Press and Hughes Center websites and a recording will be available after the event.
Van Drew won election in 2018 as a Democrat but became a Republican in 2019 after refusing to vote to impeach Trump. He won re-election as a Republican in 2020. He’s currently running for a third term.
Alexander has not previously held elected office. He is a former detective captain with the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office. He oversaw the Criminal Investigation Section for the office.
