From Cape May County

COURT HOUSE – The long-awaited parking lot expansion and traffic circulation improvements at the Cape May County Park and Zoo will commence on February 5. The project will include the creation of a new rear parking area consisting of 1,432 parking spaces along with realignment and improvements to the easterly and westerly access driveways.

The first phase of the work will involve the clearing of trees and vegetation on the westerly side of the facility. As a result of the construction, the rear (westerly) Zoo access driveway off CR 657 (Court House South Dennis Road) will be closed. The rear parking area will remain open, but space may be limited at times. In addition, those visiting the zoo are urged to stay away from the tree clearing activities for their own safety.

Work will begin at 7:00 A.M. and continue each day until around 5:00 P.M. The rear (westerly) access to the Park and Zoo will remain closed for up to five weeks as this phase of the construction progresses. Additional traffic advisories will be posted as construction progresses.
