CORBIN CITY – A city woman was arrested at her home and charged with making a shooting threat toward the Upper Township Elementary School.

State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said that the State Police arrested Danielle Egan, 28, after troopers responded to an alarm at the school on Thursday, Sept. 19, at about 9:40 a.m. The alarm had been activated due to a call received about a school shooting threat.

Out of an abundance of caution, an immediate shelter-in-place was implemented for the Upper Township School District. The shelter-in-place lasted for about 90 minutes.

Through various investigative means, State Police detectives identified the caller as Egan and traced her to her residence in Corbin City, Atlantic County. She was arrested and charged with false public alarm and released pending a future court date.

Lebron said the incident remains under investigation, and no additional information was available.

On Tuesday, Sept. 10, there were shots fired in Dennis Township that led to a lockdown of schools there, but there was no actual threat directed to the schools. The shooting was related to a theft in the area in which the suspects were confronted by a homeowner. One individual was arrested and a second is still at large.
