WILSON, VERA FISHER Vera Fisher Wilson, 84, of Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2023. She was born to parents Preston and Edna Fisher in Cape May Court House, New Jersey. After graduating from Middle Township High School, Vera was a bank teller in Cape May Court House and in Trenton. She loved her career at the Department of Environmental Protection for the State of New Jersey, where she moved up the ranks from clerk typist to roles of increasing responsibility. Vera loved the Jersey Shore, especially Stone Harbor and Long Beach Island. She was a practical and straight-talking woman, qualities that she passed on to her children and grandchildren. In addition to her family, she loved the beach, going barefoot, travel, and horses. She is survived by her children Amy Kathleen and Robert Preston and his wife Dawn, and five grandchildren: Ashton, Francesca, Trevor, Drake and Robie. A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Friends of Washington Crossing Park.
