Wildwood Mayor Gets Probation for Tax Fraud

CAMDEN – Wildwood Mayor Pete Byron was sentenced, Aug. 2, to three years of probation for filing fraudulent tax returns in 2017 and 2018.

He previously pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Camden in March.

Byron was also fined $14,000, which he must begin paying in the next 30 days at a minimum of $50 a month, and was ordered to pay $7,014 in restitution, which he also must begin paying in the next 30 days at $250 a month. He is also required to undergo mental health treatment.
