Wildwood Kiwanis Donates Supplies to Glenwood Ave. School

Wildwood Kiwanis President Gordon Ball presents a cases of school supplies to Mrs. Gonzale from the Glenwood Ave. School.

From the Wildwood Kiwanis

WILDWOOD – The Greater Wildwood Kiwanis Club presented over $700 worth of school supplies to the Glenwood Ave. School today to help parents who may have difficulty providing the necessary school supplies for their children. Providing assistance to children is the main focus of Kiwanis International.

Throughout the year, Kiwanis takes part in several programs on the island and close communities on the mainland. The Greater Wildwood Kiwanis presents the BUG program (Bring Up Grades) to entice elementary students throughout the year. We also sponsor the “Little Warrior Award” at the Glenwood Ave. School; for 6th-grade students who are moving up.

The Kiwanis presented a check to Branches in Rio Grande for the continuation of their fine work as well. The organization supports the food bank in Wildwood, the Lazarus House. They also sponsored the morning breakfast program for Cape Assist this summer for grades 1 through 3. The group also provide hats, gloves, and coats to needy children in the winter and sponsor families for Family Promise in December among other worthy programs.
