Wildwood Crest Police Arrest 2 on Drug Charges

WILDWOOD CREST – The Wildwood Crest Police Department announced the arrest of two people on drug charges, on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023, after the execution of a search warrant.

According to a press release issued by the department, on Dec. 21 at around 5:23 p.m. the Wildwood Crest Detective Division, members of the WCPD Patrol Division, WCPD K-9 officers, the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Task Force, the Middle Township Police Department and the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team executed a search warrant in the 8400 block of New Jersey Avenue in Wildwood Crest. At the time the warrant was executed, Christopher Vesper, 31, Nina Saffold, 52, and two other people were located within the apartment and taken into custody.

Detectives conducted a search of the apartment with the assistance of WCPD K-9 officers and located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Police said that when they searched Saffold, distribution amounts of Percocet and a large quantity of money were found on her person. Saffold was charged with possession of certain prescription drugs, distribution of prescription legend drugs, possession of controlled dangerous substance and money laundering. Saffold was released on a summons.

Vesper was charged with possession of CDS, possession of CDS with intent to distribute, conspiracy and possession of CDS paraphernalia. He was lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center.

The other people in the apartment were released without charges.
