WEINSTEIN, MICHAEL
Michael Weinstein, 73, of Woodbine, NJ, passed away on January 17, at his residence.
A lifelong resident of NJ, Michael was a father to two children, Kyle and Rebecca (Anthony Connell), whom he raised with his ex-wife Andrea. He is a grandfather to Rebecca and Anthony's children, Gunnar and Gavin. Michael is also survived by his sister, Judy Casper (Ken) and nephews Alex, Ben and Jared.
Michael was a dedicated educator, having spent his career as an elementary school teacher with Pleasantville Schools before retiring. Alongside his teaching career, he operated a family business with locations in Wildwood and Stone Harbor NJ. Throughout the years of Moxie Boutique's operations, he co-ran the business with his sister, Judy and ex-wife, Andrea.
Always a gamer, Michael enjoyed both online and in-person gaming. He was an avid fantasy reader who would always have a large fiction book nearby. He was an enthusiast of all kinds of board and tabletop games, with a special fondness for poker. He maintained a close group of friends who would meet weekly to game, eat and kvetch. He was a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan and followed the team through every season. In his retirement he found a passion for gardening and spent his free time maintaining his plants and garden.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Shirley, and his ex-wife, Andrea. His memory will live on in all of those who knew him.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held in his honor, with details to be announced.
